Communications

Facility Reports
            • Maintenance: Caretaker Andrew Watson
  • Jefferson County completed refinishing the upstairs floor.
  • The County is working on lighting repairs.

            • Rental & Scheduling: Fran Reynolds
  • Fran has changed upstairs and downstairs access codes. Carleton requested the downstairs code so he can continue to open the building for men’s coffee on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Bob McCauley also indicated he would like the code, as he is occasionally asked to open the building in Andrew’s absence. After discussion, MSA (5 Aye, 1 Nay): to provide the access code to Carleton Posey and Bob McCauley. Board members agreed that future requests for access codes will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • The Board discussed the temporary promotional sign installed by the Rhody-Os beside US-101, which obscures the GCC Readerboard for eastbound motorists. Board members agreed that the sign could remain up for one month and that GCC’s sign policy should be revisited at a future meeting.

            • Landscape: Trish Warner
  • Trish, Mark and Chuck Livingston continue to work on Monday mornings. Trish would like Jefferson County to sweep the GCC parking lot when a sweeper is in the area.

Treasurer’s Report: Trish Warner
  • July receipts $1,345; expenditures $1,546. Cash balance June 30: $16,821. MSA (Herb/Fran): To approve the Treasurer’s Report for July.

Old Business
  • Automated External Defibrillator.
    • Barb ordered and installed replacement pads. Gardiner Salmon Derby Association reimbursed GCC for the cost of the pads. The Philips AED operating manual and instructions are stored in a locked kitchen cabinet. Board members thanked Barb for her work.

  • Public Relations
  • Promotional Flier. Herb distributed copies of a GCC flier written and designed by Fran and Herb and printed (1,000 copies) by The Printery in Port Townsend. Herb encouraged Board members to distribute the brochure to all who may be interested in GCC’s facilities & affordable rental rates.
  • Community Meet-n-Greet: Gordon has called on a number of organizations, mostly business operators, and received positive responses to a spring 2020 event. A Google Docs list of potential participating organizations, designed by Anne Slinn, was distributed. A committee chaired by Gordon and Fran will continue planning. Carol reported she had contacted PUD#1 of Jefferson County and received positive responses from both PUD District 3 Commissioner Dan Toepper and PUD General Manager Kevin Streett.
